Me parecería raro que todavía quede gente en España que no conozca esta canción, pero nunca se sabe. Tanxugueiras es un grupo gallego de pandeireteiras formado por Aida Tarrío y las gemelas Olaia y Sabela Maneiro en 2016. Los géneros que trabajan son la música tradicional gallega y la folktrónica o electrofolk.
Las también conocidas como "las Tanxus" ya llevaban unos años haciendo sus pinitos en la música, y no les iba nada mal. Pero fue gracias al Benidorm Fest de 2022 y la injusticia social que se sintió en aquel momento al no conseguir ser ellas las representantes de España en Eurovisión aquel año lo que propulsó su fama nacional.
Ese festival estuvo lleno de controversias. No solamente porque no les sirviera obtener más de un 70 % de porcentaje del televoto para ganar el certamen debido a cómo estaban estructuradas las votaciones y a la masiva puntuación a Chanel por parte del jurado, sino también porque Luna Ki anunció su retirada de su canción Voy a Morir por la prohibición de usar Auto-Tune, a pesar de que en el pasado sí se había permitido.
Terra está basada en el ritmo tradicional de la muñeira y es un himno a la libertad. Nos recuerda que somos personas, sin importar de dónde. Ojalá la gente tuviera esto más en cuenta en su día a día. En la letra podemos escuchar distintas lenguas del país: gallego, catalán, euskera, asturleonés y castellano. Eso sí, el idioma asturleonés solo goza de reconocimiento oficial en el municipio portugués de Miranda de Duero.
Si nos remontamos unos años atrás, otra canción que realmente me impresionó de las que hemos enviado a Eurovisión fue Amanecer de Edurne, que participó en 2015. Bastantes años antes, en 1968, a Joan Manuel Serrat se le negó cantar en el concurso por querer hacerlo en catalán.

It would seem strange to me if there are still people in Spain who don't know about this song, but one never knows. Tanxugueiras is a Galician group of pandeireteiras, i.e. tambourine players, formed by Aida Tarrío and the twins Olaia and Sabela Maneiro in 2016. The genres they play are traditional Galician music and folktronica or electrofolk.
The also known as "the Tanxus" had already been making some big steps in music for a few years, and they were not doing bad at all. But it was thanks to the 2022 Benidorm Fest and all the social injustice felt at that point when they did not achieve to represent Spain in Eurovision that year that propelled their national fame.
That festival was full of controversies. Not only because it was not enough for them to obtain more than a 70% percentage of the televote to win the contest due to how the voting system was structured and the massive score given to Chanel by the jury, but also since Luna Ki announced her withdrawal with her song Voy a Morir as a consequence of the prohibition of using Auto-Tune, even though it had been allowed in the past.
Terra is based on the traditional rhythm of the muñeira and is a hymn to freedom. It reminds us that we are all humans, no matter where we are from. I wish people would take this more into account in their daily lives. In the lyrics we can hear different languages of the country: Galician, Catalan, Basque, Asturleonese and Spanish. Actually, the Asturleonese language only holds official recognition in the Portuguese municipality of Miranda de Duero.
If we go back a few years, another song that we sent to Eurovision and really impressed me was Amanecer by Edurne, who took part in 2015. Many years before, in 1968, Joan Manuel Serrat was denied singing in the competition because he wanted to do it in Catalan.
